Step into Your Story.

A 6-week online cohort for eight experts with something to say and a book to write. Outline the book, shape the business it will power and leave with your first signups.

You've got the knowledge and the experience. What you don't have is one place where all of it lives, or a way to put it in front of the people who should be working with you.

More than ever, experts are turning to books to show what they know. A book proves you've thought something through, and it keeps making your case when you're not in the room.

Writing one is no easy feat. You might not be a natural writer or you might have twenty years of material with no idea where to start.

But in six weeks, Step into Your Story gives you the shape of the book, the business it will power and a plan for everything after.

The six weeks.

Join us every Wednesday for 90 minutes, live with Alex. Each week has a theme, and the digital workbook lets you follow along and complete the work between sessions. Book your interview with Alex any time after week 2.

Alex Searle in conversation

Built by a community & business builder. Designed for experts.

Alex Searle has spent fifteen years building businesses with brands and organisations.

Step into Your Story puts that to work on your book.

Over six weeks you find the shape of what you know, test it on the people you want to work with and build the first pieces of the business around it, with seven other people doing the same.

Behind it is a team of experienced business strategists and founders, so the business around your book gets as much care as the book itself.

What people say about Alex's cohorts.

The entire process was wonderful for me, it's lent a lot of structure to ideas that are slowly coalescing in my mind. Alex is one of the best facilitators and orchestrators that I've had the pleasure of meeting.

Albert WienandCTO, Insodus Technologies · Community Builder's Bootcamp

I took Alex's course on Digital Storytelling and it was quite simply brilliant.

Eight people, on purpose.

A small cohort means every session is a working session. Your material gets heard, questioned and improved every week.

The other seven become your first readers and your sharpest critics. By week six they're the people sharing your launch.

Between sessions you have a private group space to share drafts, ask questions and keep each other moving. When the cohort ends you become an Authorship Fellow, part of a growing circle of leaders who keep showing up for each other's work and get featured across our channels.

Eight places in the founding cohort

Questions people ask.

Step into Your Story is hands-on. You work on your own material every week, out loud, with people doing the same.

How much time does it take each week?

A 90-minute live session each Wednesday, plus two to three hours with the workbook and your own thinking. The week you record your interview asks a little more of you.

What if I miss a session?

Every session is recorded, and the group space keeps you in the conversation. Your interview is booked at a time that suits you.

Do I need a book idea already?

No. Most people arrive with a lifetime of material and no clear shape for it. Finding that shape is what the first week is for.

Will I have a finished book after six weeks?

No, and we'd be wary of anyone who promised that. You leave with the outline, the business around it and your first signups. Writing, publishing and promotion come after, 1-1.

What happens after the six weeks?

Many people go on to write, publish and promote with us. Some take the outline and run with it. Either way, everything you made is yours. Write · Publish · Promote

I'm not good with technology. Is that a problem?

Not at all. We build and look after your companion and your site. Using the companion is like writing an email to someone who knows your work inside out.
